What Have We Been up To?

It’s been a while since I’ve written one of these, for which I can only apologise! Trying to keep on top of these blog posts and get one out every month was an aim of mine for 2022, but given how busy things have been recently I regrettably haven’t been able to set the time aside for it.

I find it really hard to believe that we’re well into September now - it feels like the year has only just gotten started. That said, it’s been an incredible eight months so far which has seen us work on some truly unique projects and build on what was a very successful 2021. I’m not one to talk about revenue, but as a metric for growth it’s proven to be very positive with turnover currently 20% higher than it was in the whole of 2021. With still a quarter of this year to go, that’s hugely encouraging and an indicator that things are heading in the right direction.

The boring numbers aside, it’s the campaigns that will always get me excited. Back in June we were very fortunate to be offered the opportunity to work regularly with Hamleys whereby we produce videos every month that demonstrate their products to franchises all over the world. Working with Hamleys is always an absolute pleasure, but being able to collaborate with them on a more consistent has felt incredibly rewarding.

In terms of individual campaigns there are two that immediately spring to mind. The first being a project we delivered for previous client Policy Expert, where we travelled up to Scotland and Milton Keynes to film with their customer-facing teams and produced a video that was aimed at attracting new talent into the business. We’ve done a lot of these recruitment-focussed films in the past, but this one certainly felt like it had a bit more depth to it and the whole shooting process was made very enjoyable!

The next being my personal favourite project of the year, creating a promotional film for Squirrels Heath Infant School. We worked with the team at Squirrels back in 2020 to produce a ‘virtual open day’, but this time to the school wanted to create something updated and without the mention of Covid. We pulled out all the stops, capturing almost everything we could see and even getting a drone up in the air which probably got the children a bit too excited for their teacher’s liking!

An infant school isn’t a major brand and wouldn’t be perceived by many as a ‘big’ client, but these projects are genuinely some of the most enjoyable to create and the school couldn’t have been more appreciative of what we did for them. It’s these types of organisations that I believe benefit the most from professional video production.

Overall it’s been a fantastic few months and it was great to take a bit of time off recently to recharge the batteries in preparation for a busy September. We’re really excited to be working with Policy Expert once again where we’ll be capturing photography for their website, as well as gearing up for Christmas with Hamleys and welcoming several new clients onboard.
