First Quarter of 2023 Complete!

It’s hard to believe, but we’re already a quarter of the way through 2023… I feel like it was Christmas only last week.

The start of this year came with a lot of uncertainty given the economical state of the country and almost every other post on LinkedIn reporting that this year was going to ‘tougher than ever.’ But despite that initial concern over how the year may play out, the past few months have proved to be very enjoyable. Don’t get me wrong, we’re not tearing up any trees and recording record-breaking months, but the work has been very enjoyable and all the while revenue is ahead of this stage last year despite not feeling as busy!

Despite January being a month that we may as well have taken off completely, February and March have ticked over nicely with us working on a variety of campaigns in hugely varying industries. We’ve created video podcasts, photographed for the NHS, produced staff culture videos and shot plenty of food and drink content which was a big aim for this year.

Something I’ve noticed at the moment is an influx of smaller projects every month, as opposed to one large one. Throughout the entire FOSTER Studios journey each month has ordinarily involved one big campaign which is accompanied by a plethora of smaller jobs e.g. staff headshots, capturing an evening event etc.

Why the trend of regular smaller job is happening right now is not something I can pinpoint, however I would assume a lot of organisations are keeping their powder dry given the economic worries and the fact we are still so early on in the year.

That said, the larger jobs and bigger budgets often come between May and November, so with that in mind there’s a lot to look forward to.

Apologies for the briefness of this post, just keeping you updated with how things are trickling along!
